misting normally appears when hot air hits a cold screen so rapidly condenses into water molecules. i believe :)

:iagree:

the cold air coming up is causing the moisture on the outside to freeze.

It's condensation...did you not do science?

In other words it's alot cooler on the inside than it is outside. Tonight is especially a warm night compared to other nights this week, about 20 degrees C and is very moist, so this will increase the chance of this happening.

Teflon, I hope the moisture on the outside is not freezing, he'd have ice if that was the case not water ;)

ok, i'm on my high horse again!!!

what do you think the moisture is made from then???? pure water???

only pure water will freeze at 0 degrees centigrade, and besides yo also have to consider the wind chill factor created by the movement of the car!

but the point is it's condensing not freezing, jeez woa there! ;)

yeah, i've just realised what i said now!!:nut:

anyway my point is that it is possible for it to freeze because of the chill factor

yes you're right. phew......... :)

20 degrees is warm there???????? Freaks!

I get this sometimes, what I do is use the heater control to apply a small amount of heat to the AC, not to much that you get hot, but enough to warm the screen. That soon clears the condensation from the outside.

at night mil, not midday :)

Thanks, the thing was this time it was misting up so fast that driving was becoming difficult. Perhaps I was too generous with the heater control in my desire to clear thr wretched stuff. Thing also is that I never experienced AFAICR similar with other cars, not Skoda, that I have owned over the years. Interiors misting up maybe, but not exterior glass in the same way.
