Can I use any VW partner to service my Skoda ? For example - My nearest dealer would therefore be a Seat garage only 9 miles away (instead of 100 miles return for Skoda) :thumbdwn:

Yes - you can use any VAT-registered mechanic using the "correct" parts without impacting your warranty. :)

Good idea, but not so good for warranty work. Even though I hate paying the vastly inflated workshop prices that dealers now expect us to pay, I still reckon that it's prudent to use the dealer network whilst the vehicle is still covered by the manufacturers warranty.

:confused: Why? You are still 100% covered and you have more money in your pocket!!

If they matched a cheaper quote I would use them, if not I wont. Simple:)

I dunno how Skoda would react to a warranty claim from an independent. I can imagine this scenario being quite awkward. Perhaps you should ask the question?

Though seeing as you don't pay directly for warranty work, why would you be looking to take it to an independent to save money?
