The engine code in my octavia Vrs 1.8t is AUM and the rated HP is 150 bhp could anyone tell me what turbo charger is installed and what type of remapping( i.e phase I, II etc) should I go for without major modifications to either the turbo or the engine and what max power and torque can I achieve??

also Could anyone tell me the actual effects of engine remapping (Chip tuning) in a Octavia Vrs 1.8t Petrol on the performance and more so on the fuel economy

Some one else will probably correct me !!,:( but i don't ever remember a Octy vRS being 150 bhp i thought they were all 180 bhp. I just got mine remapped and my fuel is now better than the 1.3 ford Ka that i owned for 4 months:D

you have a KK K03(s) turbo and if you are only remapping then go for phase 1, not worth it for phase 2 in that case. power wise it depends on your fuel quality, if you have 97ron or better fuel available then about 220bhp is possible but if you only have 95 then only around the 200 mark with a little bit more torque.

the remapping will make the car pull harder in all conditions and if used gently won't affect fuel economy but obviously if you put your foot down everywhere it will use more fuel

I jave a "generic" remap on my 1.8T Elegance, which originally was 150 Bhp, the figures quoted to me post remap where around the 206-212Bhp and somewhere around 220 lb/ft of torque.

My fuel economy has not really changed at all, perhaps 1 MPG less at the most. On a steady motorway run i can easily get 40 to the gallon.

Oh and mine uses 95 Ron most of the time.

The Octy RS has been detuned to 150 bhp in India ( just like the audi TT here) bcos of the fuel quality.

U can go for Custom Code Phase-I. However if you live in Delhi, then u can get 97 octane fuel at select Bharat Petroleum outlets although at Rs. 60/litre, that'll be an expensive option if you are concerened about fuel costs.

I, however use IOC 93 octane which is available at some IOC outlets and it's only Rs.0.75 more than premium unleaded.

Outside Delhi there is really no point going beyond Ph-I.

Although even phase -I will make it very fast. The custom code phase-I has been tuned for India to make about 200bhp, considering the availabe fuel quality.

I have an octy Vrs 1.8t Stock 150 Bhp Engine code AUM and got a Custom Code Remap, Carbonio cold air intake, Forge DV, Miltek Catback Exhaust. What should be the ideal Power and torque figures after these Mods. My DV makes a big SNEEZE like sound after tifting off the GAS

As has been said before , in Europe it's 180bhp but in India and a few other countries it's detuned to 150bhp for the lower grade of petrol that is commonly available.
