Main Dealer Price of Parts

I was just about to place a large order with a well know (non main agent) skoda parts supplier and was surprised to find that some of their parts have risen quite steeply (doubled in one instance) from their catalogue prices.

I've always been under the impression that main agents try to fleece their customers on the price of parts , but out of curiosity I contacted my local main agent for prices on the same parts - and was surprised to find that they were cheaper on every part - without me even asking for a discount!!!

Anyone else had this pleasant surprise?
