Tyre warning! Yokohama C Drives

Featured Replies

A word of warning regarding Yoko C drives.

I had Sport Contact 2s from new until 15K then changed all 4 for the Yokos.

Verdict:

Overall lower noise.

Superb dry grip

Acceptable wet grip

HOWEVER:

I am now down to app 4-5 mm after 6K and finding the traction barely acceptable in the dry and wheel spin city in the wet. The car pushes wide a little too easily when it's damp and even gentle acceleration in the wet, with lock on, causes the traction control to light up.( no I do not cane it everywhere - emergency starts are not my style )

Good tyres when new and in the dry but pretty hopeless when part worn and in the wet!

Caveat Emptor!
