Just debating this one trading in my 54 Plated Dec 04 Octy 2.0TDi Elegance, spec as per signature with 37K miles for a 06 Plated May 06 Black VRs spec is:

Skoda Octavia 2.0 T FSI Vrs 5-Dr Hatchback finished in Black with black cloth / leather interior. Specification includes anti-lock brakes, adjustable steering wheel, alarm, central locking, climate control, computer, drivers air bag, electric windows, engine immobiliser, front fog lamps, head rests, headlamp adjustment, headlamp wash, power steering, rear wash wipe, rev counter, split rear seat, tinted glass, traction control and trip computer. 18" zenith alloys, xenon lights, dual zone air con, jumbo box,maxi-dot,rear electric windows.

Now its up for

Just deciphering the options -

Basic Car

Black Paint

Xenon's

Jumbo Box

18" Wheels

Maxi Dot

Thats a pretty good selection of toys on there. What you get for yours depends on how much the dealer wants to ge rid of his Demo (If thats what it is).

Just a stab in the dark, but I think between £3000 and £3500 to change.

Oh well that idea's out of the window, called the dealer and they sold it yesterday. All the others on Skoda's Web site for an 06 with similar spec are £1K+ more expensive. Just have to keep an eye out for others coming available.

There are a load of ex demo's in the Autotrader, all priced around £15k-£16k

Hi guys, if that's the one in liverpool (3012 miles is a bit too much of a co-incidence) I bagged it !!

Sorry:sorry:

Ignore the asking prices, get one good deal lined up then approach other dealers and be open about what you've been offered - suprising how much below asking some will drop.

Thanks and dealer has just come back with one they have coming in with Xenons & Extras TBC and Zero miles. Want to use a dealer so can part ex my old one if I do go ahead.

Mentioned it to the SO this morning, and no adverse reaction suppose it depends upon cost really.

No problem hope you enjoy it you *#*!!## ;) but seriously I'm only testing the water at the moment, it is purely down to cost to change.

Wonder if I could get the dealer to swap my Audience Sound System Seup for the one in a VRs if I'm to get one?

Well spoke with the Stealer again this PM, he came back with another option on the VRs first a brand new one that he would do at the same price as the ex demo but it only had the Dual Zone Air Con & Jumbo Box, then came back with a second hand one with Xenons, Air Con & Box for same price again.

Now the big hit was on mine he offered

Its worth phoning around, I've been quoted a best price of £6600 to change to an ex demo with 8k on the clock but my trade in is a 54 plate Fabia vRS. I'm sure if you phoned a few those dealers that have ex demos in the Autotrader at the moment and you were prepared to travel you could find a much better deal.

I was actually happy with that price but the wife has had second thoughts and is not so happy. I'm very, very close to taking a page out of the Makefish book on how to get a new car. :)

THanks, I've been keeping an eye on Skoda's web site on all the Black VRs's available but it has to be on an 06 Plate and have my minimum requirements for me even to consider a swap, and to date none do :(

If they come into the ball park figures I am thinking of I will try and do a deal with them, but with the first they were way to far out.

Checked with Direct Line on my insurance on a VRs compared with mine and it only went up just under

I'm very, very close to taking a page out of the Makefish book on how to get a new car. :)

Take the flack for a week or so, she may not even talk to you for a while, but just do it and all will be fine in a couple of weeks...........I promise :P

Edit: If you want some advice on getting what you want, just send me a PM for some tips ;)
