VRS Squeeky Seat

Featured Replies

I purchased a fabia vrs in January and it has been a pleasure to drive- easy on the pocket whilst providing a bit of fun at the same time BARGAIN!

However my only problem is the drivers seat which has developed a VERY annoying squeeking every time i hit a bump or press the GO pedal. I am going to phone the dealership today but would like to know is it covered by the warranty?

Any help would be appreciated:)

Should be provided not remapped (see my other thread about a year ago).

I had to complain in order for them to cover it under warranty.

It's usually the seat base which is @ fault and it's quite common iirc.

Had exactly the same problem so booked it in for warranty and they covered the seat frame in grease and now its fine - just got a bloddy rattling rear headrest now!.....interested to see what they will say as is 18months old and now have tints, wheels and different lights! - no performance mods though so am hoping would be ok!what happended with your remap under warranty as I am looking to get one done??

Thanks for the replies... car booked in for the weekend so all things being well the work should be covered under warranty. Had an annoying rattling with the glove compartment which seemed to be the catch moving in the open slot. Solved by placing screen wipe near the hinge - no more rattles.:)

I had the squeeky seat then i read on here if you raise then lower the seat the sqeek disapears

I tried it

and no more squeek

what happended with your remap under warranty as I am looking to get one done??

They claimed that the extra forces exerted against the seat base because my car was accelerating quicker somehow broke the seat base?

my 2 main points were:

1) it only happened when leaning left/right and no matter how fast my car could go in a straight line surely it can only go a certain speed around a corner?

2) in a crash surely the seat base has to be able to take a fair amount of force so that my seat doesn't come flying out with me in it?

with those 2 points raised, they covered it under warranty. BTW, it wasn't my dealer that wouldn't cover it origonally, it was Skoda UK.
