I've been charged with 'driving without due care and attention' and need good legal representation for the hearing in Peterborough.

I've heard a story about briefs not even remembering the clients name and would hate to be in that kind of mid-court scenario.

Any recomendations gratefully received, thanks

I can't help - but it might be worth saying whether you are pleading not guilty and want a brief to try to get you off, or whether you are admitting it and are just looking to mininise the penalties.

For what its worth I had one of these mid 1990's and got 6 points and £180 fine + £40 costs, after turning up in my best suit, pleading guilty and saying how sorry I was!

The only good bit was I did an income/expenditure statement that had my outgoings almost equal to my earnings, so they let me pay the fine off at £5 a week.

Note: If you are doing this its better to write "miscellaneous sundries" instead of "beer money".

I can admit guilt by post but don't want to be given nine points in my absence.
