Zippy bit on RS Rear seats, What are they?

Featured Replies

Hey hey,

Anyone know what the deal is with the zips in the rear seats?

That's all :)

You mean the two short zippers on each side? In the part between the backrest and the seat cushion?

Once opened they allow attaching an ISOFIX childrens' seat. There's a metal bracket behind each zipper that the seat secures on to. On the front passenger seat they're an option. With an ISOFIX seat you have no need for strapping the seat down with seatbelts.

my guess "and its a guess" is that its something to do with adapting a child booster seat. I seen a pic of a built in booster seat in a passat. look pretty neat

if you have children, and if its a taxi there may be new law out soon that the

taxi must be fitted with booster seats. So VW group might be the new taxi cab

in town..... But then I have been known to talk bo!!*($
