Which comes first ?

Featured Replies

OK So you've bought a Mk 2 Octavia vRS 2.0TFSi. Now you want to tune it some, make some changes here, some modifications there.

What comes first ???

Bearing in mind the vehicle will have zero miles and is brand new.

Neons and a home-made spoiler. I like to use marine ply.

I was thinking of more conventional tuning / accesories

Hi

First call for me would be a full Miltek sports cat and exhaust system.

Then I would visit Jabba or AMD or Revo for a remap.

This would liberate another 50 ponies without much stress or strain! - apart from on my wallet!

Cheers!

Steve

Run the car in for the first 1,000 miles or so just to make sure nothing is catastrophically wrong so the waranty will cover it.

Assuming all is OK then the first route for me would be a Remap and high flow air filter such as the K&N . Go careful with the remap as some tuners have been struggling with the 2.0T FSI engine!.

Other modifications you can consider:-

Nuespeed Torque Arm Insert (which stops engine flex)

Nuespeed Short Shifter

Carbonio Air Intake

Nuespeed P-Flow Air Intake Kit ?

Forge Twintercooler (currently in devolpment for the vRS)

Forge Adjustable BOV

Milltek Turbo/Catback exhaust   :D

Nuespeed Power Pulley ?

Stainless Brake Lines ?

Nuespeed Stiffened Anti Roll Bar ?

No, but they are one of the few companies that have actually bothered to do anything with the 2.0T FSI lump. If there is another alternative then I'm all ears

Hmmm:), would that be with a nice mahogany veneer on it?

Cocobola - mahogany is a bit common. :)

like the look of the forge bov, the way its adjustable- do you have one or any experience of them @ makefish? :)

Yup, have one fitted along with a few other members on here.

What I really like about this is that you can switch it off when you've had enough of the 'woooshing' i.e. for when I use the car for work.

It's a well made piece of kit though

Now there was me thinking you were a Lignum Vitae gentleman.

A fine wood indeed, but a little heavy for this work - more suited, I might suggest, to wheels. A burl redwood is my choice, of course, for the bonnet and other large panels.
