Just picked up new Fabia VRS as a sort of company car deal.

First impressions......excellent!!!! Engine is very torquey and frugal at same time.

I am used to driving a Mk2 Golf GTI 8v (had for 3 1/2 years) so getting used to different driving stlye but have to say the build quality, handling and performance are all excellent.

Have to change it in 6 months for a different car (deal protocol) so may stick with another Fabia but like the look of the Octavia VRS. There seems to be a big dispute over which is a better all rounder 2.0T FSI VRS or 2.0TDI VRS.

I do approx 1000 miles a month which includes a lot of country lanes so want something that is quick but relatively frugal. If there is only a few mpg difference between petrol and diesel then could be the petrol that steals it.....especially if it is only for like 6 months!

Anyway, good to be a member of a well recognised group.
