1.4 TDI 2006 80HP stock

Featured Replies

Hello everyone,

Does anyone know what to do beside a remap to get more than 100hp without cracking the engine?

I want to go as much less expensive as possible.

GIve me ideas please...

Thank you.

anyone?

Do a search for remap mate!

Stick the engine from a vRS in there and get it remapped ;)

On a more serious note - I'd suggest a larger air intake ie the one from PD160 assuming it will fit on the 1.4tdi, and also an aftermarket air filter such as a green cotton filter which are very popular on here.

After that a remap is obviously the most cost effective way of increasing the power.

If you want to go further there are intercooler, turbo, and exhaust upgrades.

Sorry, should have read the first post.

Tom_vRS, no problem, thanks anyways.

Harry_vRS, thanks, i will look into that intake.

One question about the intake, does my after market air filter fits on that pd 160 intake?

Cuz i already have the after market air filter. :\

Thanks.

iirc the pd 160 intake wont fit the 1.4 tdi because the interccoler is in a different place.... i may be wrong tho??? anybody??

whats the intake got to do with the intercooler?

The intake goes on the airbox, which is the same on the 1.4 TDi.

i thought i must have been wrong again.....:)

i'm thinking of the pipe that goes from the intercooler to the manifold..... iirc the 1.4 tdi has a front mounted interccoler like the polo's do

looking torwards to the car, its at the front, left side. not in front of the radiator like i want to put it to give me more cold air.

thank you all for all posts, and looking for more ideas.

The cheapest option would be a remap (i know you don't want to do a remap) as all the other mods that will help power will benifit from a remap and also cost a fair bit.

Insurance would probably be cheaper on a normal 1.9 than the modded 1.4 anyway.
