I've just recieved this sat nav / camera locator. I can't get past the first screeen - the black one with the safety warning and agree button. Nothing happens when i press the agree button. The unit is brand new, and i have left it on in the car for a few hours and still nothing has happened. Is it duff? The booklet says the first time it is use it could take upto an hour to locate a signal?

I had a similar problem but it was not the black "I agree" screen. Have you registered it with snooper? In order for the unit to activate you need to register it. You get free updates for the first 6 months or for

the instructions state the unit will navigate without registration, and that it is only the speed camera database i need to register for. was holding off registration as if the unit is duff its a load more hastle to get it refunded or transferred.

yep - checked instructions - unit should navigate as the camera database registration is optional and can be activated online if desired. confused.

But I thought they needed to activate it which is what I think they did.

nothing in the instruction - maybe i'm missing somthing. activating costs money as it activates the speed camera locations, the instructions say the unit should be able to navigate out of the box??? confused???

That's only to complete downloads not to navigate it's the same as my Road Angel, you can use it straight out of the box to navigate but to get the latest camera locations you need to register. Sounds like you've got a faulty SD card or unit, as it's more likely using the SD card to load the mapping. I've seen faulty TomTom's freeze which was due to duff SD cards. You should try taking it back and find another or similar.

i think it is duff. will be going back tomorrow, although bought from the net so means all sorts of posting and phone call hassle. what a pain in the ****...
