It will be interesting to see just what difference it can make, not just in terms of BHP but especially the torque!

The gearbox has a max torque rating of 350nm (Sound a familier figure?)

I have posted before but no one really knows yet - What will be the effect of the DPF. I heard that there were problems mapping the 1.4TDi Fabia fittted with DPF.

Fabias arent fitted with a DPF.

Fabias arent fitted with a DPF.

I believe someone had an Imported Fabia with one that caused some headaches, I agree its not on the UK spec Fabias

I'm sure there was a thread a while ago with a certain tuner having issues with a 1.4 fitted with a DPF. I'll see if I can find the post.

The part number for a 1.4 AMF DPF is 6Q0 254 800 BX.

Whether that is a UK option or not I don't know but there is one.

ATD and ASZ is also listed - 6Q0 254 800 JX

So, if there is a restriction of 350 Nm on the Octavia VRS Tdi G/Box is there any real benefit of getting it remapped? Especially if it is going to cost a few hundred pounds ( which is more than likely):(

Well that's kinda up to you isn't it.

No point on a car in the warranty period, imho!

I believe there isnt a decent remap product available yet. I am not sure there will be, as I think you won't be able to get much out of the PD170 as its already basically a mapped PD140. Can't remember the details but there was some discussion in the Revo forum on Seat cupra.net .

The 170 is pretty brutal with it's power and torque delivery.

You might be able to get that smoothed out and a power increase, but if it were me I would either get the 140 and map it or get a 170 and not bother and have a warrenty.
