On my octavia when the wiper is turned on intermittent, everytime the wiper is raised a soft single tick can be heard, possibily some sort of relay switch? Does anyone have a similar problem or is this normal?

It's the relay that controls the wipers - it's behind the dashboard. I can just about hear it on my car.

Has it always been audible?

Just do what the rest of us do and have the stereo on so we can't hear it!

It's not that loud on mine anyway

Yesterday was the 1st time I heard it i guess. hopefully it is normal!

Mine does the same - a very soft click. It's been like that for a while, possibly since I've had the car as I normally have the stereo on. You need to really listen out for it. I rarely notice it at all.
