Confused

Featured Replies

Hi - wondering if someone could help me understand this little issue please.

I have been looking at Autotrader and seen that the 05 plate 2.0tdi Octavia Ambiente has steel wheels with trims. I have then seen the 55 plates with alloys. Please could some tell me when the Ambiente trim started to have the 15" Helios alloys fitted as standard please. I am currently looking at a 55 plate, and have been told it has the steel wheels.

thanks

Sorry I can't help but Hi anyway.

Cheers - Hi to you to :)

The change occurred when MY2006 came about (that's model year 2006) - some time around July 2005 I think?

I picked my car up on 2nd September 05 on a 55 plate and I suspect that the alloys were retro-fitted by the dealer as the spare was steel. I think (but I may be wrong) that cars with alloys as standard also have an alloy spare.

I thought they all had steel spares.

I thought, the alloy's was an option. And that the steel's are standard as spares.

Alloys are standard on the car as Ambient spec now.

thanks for the replies - the date the car was registered was 12/09/05 so looks like it should have the alloys.

55 plate Elegance comes with an alloy spare as standard

I bought my Octy just two weeks before the change to 55 plate. I got £2000 off the price as the dealer had just two steel wheel cars left and wanted to shift them. Spec was same as newer version apart from the wheels. I could have bought alloys and still had money to spare with the discount !

So does the 54 plate. Mine was registered on 1st Sept 2004 and was one of the first batches built as it had to have a fix applied to the Climatronic that only applied to very early build cars.
