upgrading fabia rear speakers.

Featured Replies

having upgraded my HU and front speakers im wanting to get some more volume coming from the back. i dont want to cut the parcel shelf so am looking at direct replacements for the rear.

am i right in thinking that the rear speakers are 4" (10cm)? if so does anyone know what the standard rear speakers are valued at watt wise so i know what im looking at as a good upgrade?

Any speaker suggestions welcome.

make an MDF frame fot the speaker and screw the new speaker into this and then use the MDF frame as an adapter for the new speakers so you have some felxibility on size.

I would personally avoid huge magnets as the holder is only plastic.

As for power what does your H/Unit say it will put out, I'd go with something similar.

Pioneer do an OEM replacement fit range of speakers.

my HU says 4 x 60 watt.

ive got 160watt kenwoods in the front and they sound twice as loud as the back ones at the minute.

Try loosening the felt trim below the rear speakers, then see if they sound better.

Someone on here made the space below the speakers less sound absorbing by making a cutout below the rear speakers and replacing that grey carpetey stuff with grey (hifi) speaker cover material. Apparently it increased bass significantly.

Also remember your soundstage should be from the front also.
