Recently bought and remapped a 55-plate Fab - after 5k miles no faults, goes like its name and can't get the mpg below 42.5 so scores 9.8/10; two small ??s

1. Fixed dipped-beam lights xlnt but main beams inadequate (xenon option according to Skoda only available from factory - no retrofit); lenses are glass not plastic so hotter bulbs possible ?

2. Instrument visibility (particularly speedo) poor - particularly in bright daylight - VW Golf panel much clearer; again Skoda can't help; previously-owned Oct VRS had same problem.

Helpful suggestions please !

Welcome to the site.

1) You could fit uprated bulbs but not legally and you run the risk of upsetting other drivers.

2) Don't really understand? Poor visability in bright sunlight? Do you mean reflection from the screen over the speedo's? I have not noticed anything in my Octavia.
