Nissan Micra 160 SR

Featured Replies

Observed with much amusement today one of these urinate all over a "fast" Saxo...

Must admit they seem like a little car you could have some serious fun in and could take more than a few people by suprise.

Anyone else got any experience/views of them? A quick google showed that EVO are more than impressed. More bhp per tonne than a standard Fabia VRS in fact

:sofahide:

I must admit I considered one of these..

my mum has an old Micra, T plate, that gets thrashed every day, has been to France twice a year for 6 years, and still drives well.

They should be ultimately reliable, and apart from looking odd ( not that the fabia is beautiful ) should be a good tool.

The new micra is not as relaible as the old type as in it part renault.

I saw one the other day, and it 'sports' up okay.

Rather have my fabia mind you.

160hp in one of those little Micras?

Cool!

I think the '160' is the age of the driver , and passenger, added together...

my mum is 145, and she sometimes takes Katie to school, so it could be right:thumbup:

Surely it means 1.6??

Can't see it myself

It's not 160 hp? That's just the model's name...

It actually produces 109 hp. Top speed is 114. Nothing to special..

Very nice looking though.

hmmm, a micra 1.6- joy of joys, I'd rather walk!

the new micra aint too hot, must say i'm not a fan of jap cars in general, esp theire "just enough" build quality

dont get me wrong, they're bloody reliable,

but they are also bloody boring

about the same performance as a standard fabia vRS in a straight line but will corner better due to lack of pig iron up fornt, weighs about 400Kg less too. mpg isn't that far off the fabia either.

i know which i'd rather have :)

Thought the same myself till I read the EVO review......

As Bengie states the bare facts speak for themselves in terms of power to weight, mpg etc.......

Quite funny as I bet your reaction (and my initial reaction) is exactly the same as the Fabia VRS used to/even still gets from many

I wouldnt have said that if I hadnt driven other models of the new micra. I just dont like them:D

true about the hothatch "blindness" that pervades with regards to the vRS,a bloody good "Q car" and practical to boot:thumbup:

looking at the numbers, it surely couldn't have been a proper "fast" saxo to get whooped by the micra

Think it was a VTR.... TBH it was hard to tell what with all the body kit on.

The point is the Saxo may have been faster, but as the driver of said car wasn't expecting a "Micra" to have a bit of pace when the Micra driver floored it he was totaly unprepared.....

A bit like when a Fabia VRS levaes a car that is more powerful and faster in a cloud of soot... its not because the VRS is faster its because the driver of the other car thinks they can see off the little Skoda with alloys without much effort

Me too...... and it is parked in my drive. :)

thats fair enough as its you that needs to be happy but personally couldn't live the boring life of a modern diesel. i know they are better on fuel etc but i need some excitement in my driving after driving a transit all day every day :)

thats the most fun I can think of!

no indicators, sun and a bottle of cola on the dash, cane it from cold, balding rear tyres, wet roundabout-heaven:)

only surpassed by merc sprinter with a few "tweaks" to it- sure I saw 120mph on the clock on my private test-track:thumbup:

my commisserations if its a "transit connect" or Renault master you drive:(

i got well & truly beaten away from some traffic lights today by a transit van

perhaps sabine schmit was driving it?

(insert excuses here)

although i'd only just cold started the engine on my octy

so i was keeping the revs below 2000rpm

and there was smoke coming off the transits tyres

its nice to have that element of surprise sometimes

What you mean like a deer :)

The transits that are leaving the ford factory in southampton are f**king fast for a van. They take them around soton every day and they don't hang about at all.

Talking about fast cars in sheeps-clothing:

Subaru Forrester 2.5 XT - 4x4, not special looking at all, 0-62 -> 6 secs

It costs from 22K in the UK.

I`m looking at getting rid of my Fabia 1.4 MPI. I want some more power. :D

just get an m-45 supercharger off a mini cooper s

I would like to have a play in the Micra Colin McRea demonstrated a couple of years back at Castle Combe...it has the engine where Granny sits !

Well, my little girls at a party this morning and there just happens to be a Nissan garage just down the road from said event...... might have a nosey and see if I can blag a test drive, see if these Micra "Street Racers" are up to much and provide the same smiles that the Fabia VRS does
