sometimes i can put the clutch down and select first and other times it grinds the hell out of first

Doesnt seem to make any difference with speed etc, sometimes i can and sometimes i cant

note: i'm not lifting the clutch up just keeping it fully pressed to the floor.

any ideas?

hhmmm, what car is it first? vRS? or a five speeder? mileage?

Mine's done it occasionally with 2nd. Seems to get better as it warms up from cold.

Same here bit stiff 1st thing, as it warms up the change from 1st to 2nd gets less notchier. Still not happy thoe. 1st Fabia i had was really smooth. Going back to dealers with big list of complaints.

its vrs

can be warm or cold, doesnt make a difference although if its doing it at the begining of the journey its usually the same at the end, some days it doesnt do it at all. its only sub 30 speeds, i havent tried any faster than that and i always give it enough time after putting the clutch in.

Silly response this may be, but what about adjusting the clutch !!!!

it could be becuase the oil level in the gearbox is a little too low.

wasn't there some sort of cure for this? something to do with replacing the cables between the lever and the gearbox? (or was a cure for the rattle in neutral)

anyway mines ok (unless the learners try and do it with the clutch half up!)
