Featured Replies

At last the day has come.....

........Well will come on Saturday when we pick up our new babies - my wife's Sport and my vRS from the dealer...........

...........any tips on what we should be checking when collecting and how we should 'run them in' appreciated............

.............and we are getting so excited.....

...........especially my wife as she knows nothing about her Sport! Surprise surprise!;)

Will make a welcome change from her clapped out diesel metro!

What engine is in the Sport?

1.4-16v i think??:)

That's the 1.2 petrol engine isn't?

I'm sure you'll both be impressed with the cars. For the first 500 miles drive carefully (ie. don't rev the cars too much), but after that drive normally. I'd check over the cars paintwork and alloys (before you leave the dealer), but apart from that I can't think of anything else to look out for really. However you have the warranty if anything should go wrong.

If it's a new one it'll be the 1.2-12v :D The first Sport's had the 1.4-16v detuned to 75bhp

was a 1.4, now a 1.2 12v, keep rev's low, don't do 0-60's etc from new and let it get to atleast 1k miles before you open it up. also the pd130 vrs drinks oil for the first 5,000 miles so check it reguarly, it'll probably need a full 5 litres before the 5,000 miles is up!

After seeing how the cars are treated driving them off the boats and around the docks, I wouldn't bother with running in at all

Make sure the exhaust trim is fitted. A guy I know had his missing.

how can they call it a sport then?? 1.2 indeed???

it's competition for the corsa sxi 1.2, it has vrs bolstered seats just a different colour, leather trim steering wheel/gearlever, alloy wheels, tinted windows from the rear 1/4 back. exhaust tailpipe and red seat belts :)

I was tempted by the sport simply because it's very good value. It may not be the fasted car in the world, but it'll still get you from A to B.

Agree on oil - check it weekly.

Forget at your peril

sporty looking for students who can't afford to insure a vRS for example/
