i have been wondering if the alluminium plate that holds the rear bush in place which supports the wishbone can be removed, the vehicle i own is a skoda fabia comfort 1.4 petrol y reg

yes , the aluminium "console" can be replaced and so can the rearmost wishbone bush , the bush can be replaced with the console in situ with the VAG special tool , i think the consoles with a bush fitted are about £70 each and the bush on its own is about £7 ,HTH
