Hi, New VRS WRC owner

Featured Replies

Hi all.

Just taken the plunge and bought myself an Octavia VRS.

I've been looking for the last 6 months and finally did the deal today.

Purchased a 2004/53 Octavia VRS WRC no 77/100.

44,000 miles ex Police driver training school car.

This makes it de stickered and in all white.

I never knew the VRS came in white and will admit it was not my first choice of colour but the deal was too good to refuse.

After driving the car I am amazed at how good it feels and responds, can't wait to take delivery.

Only minor problem is the dealer doesn't know if the car has been uprated as I believe most Police spec models were chipped to a higher bhp?

Looking forward to a long and happy relationship with my Skoda:D

As im sure you know only the WRC came in white from the factory as a public spec car.

A lovely car and one I would consider myself given the chance.

The chipping issue could easily become a major problem if you ever have the need to make use of your insurer. You need to find out before you take delivery and make sure you tell them if it has. I'd be surprised though if the police left it chipped. I'd have thought when they decommissioned it (for want of a better phrase) and took all the radio, siren etc equipment out they'd have sorted that out as well.

One thing you can be sure of is that as an ex-police vehicle it will have been maintained to the highest standards. Good luck with it.

Welcome to Briskoda, enjoy the new motor.

Thanks for your welcomes.

Is there an easy way of telling if the car has been modded or chipped to a higher bhp?

Speak to the former owner? I'd be surprised if they would allow you to void your insurance by running a chipped car that you had no knowledge about. It's a criminal offence not to disclose this kind of information ;)

You can tell if you can get VAG COM hooked up to your car.
