Guess what, another one gone.......

Featured Replies

No, not a coil pack, but a windscreen!!

Had a stress crack on it back in March last year, screen was replaced under warranty, yesterday got the same again, tho this time from the top of the screen rather than the passenger side.

Examined closely, no signs of impact and started at the edge again. I've seen a few reports of them going on bouncing czechs, think it's a weakness.

Ah well, new screen ordered, should be replaced tomorrow.

Maybe it's the way you bounce your particular Czech that does it!

could it be pay-back for a bouncy cheque you used!!!

Had this very issue with mine about 3 months ago. The dealer said they had seen it before and replaced the screen without fuss.

You think yours are bad, Get a Vectra, My wife's Vectra (L&K due shortly thankfully) has done 123000 miles & had its third new screen about 2 weeks ago, according to the fitter they do more Vectras than just about any car

Could be to do with most Vectra driver's tailgating lorries down the

motorway though

Have you stiffened the suspension of your car? I'm wondering if too much shock and vibration is being transmitted into the bodyshell. But if that is the case, Jon should be on his nth windscreen by now.....

I'm on my third, just getting ready to get another :(

However, mine aren't down to stress fractures, mine are usually FOD. Usually caused by aggregate lorries, cars entering gravel traps ahead of me, airfield track days etc

Nope, suspension and wheels standard - toyo's have a stiffer sidewall than pirelli's but my first screen went on pirelli's.

Maybe it goes back to the "estate shell flexes more" theory, but then both times the crack has appeared it's been on a cold morning (march last time).

I drive my car relatively hard, if it down to flex I'm sure I'd be killing them one a month!

:D
