Featured Replies

Does anyone know if sill guards are available from somewhere for a Fabia? My dealer doesn't think they are.

Thanks.

I've used a stick on anti-slip coating on the tdi sills to stop damage will pot pic's later......

Just fitted a set of Genuine Skoda ABS sill guards to the wifes car at the weekend.

Bought them from JHM Butts (Tel 01302-710868) at a cost of

Mark any chance of a pic......

Will try a get a photo sorted out, my digital camera is playing up so will try and borrow one.

The sill protectors actually came in genuine Skoda packaging and I am sure they are in the Skoda Accessories brochure, try and get a look in the brochure if you can.

For the money i paid they are excellent and only took 15 mins to fit (self-adhesive rubber strips).

Good luck.

Further to my last posting my dealer wanted

I'm hoping to fit the (very kindly from Alex) donated plastic Fabia sillguards to the new furby I hope to be the owner of by next weekend. I'll post piccies too. I'm curious what the best adhesive is though - Needs to be a balance of stickiness, but not too damaging to the paintwork if I need to remove them. Double sided tape?

Cheers

The new sill protectors came with double sided rubber tape on both the top and side face, if the original fixing is scrap i would try carpet tape, very strong and can be removed with heat and a little care.

Good luck

Ordered the sill protectors from JHM Butt on Thursday about 11 am. They arrived Friday about 10 am despite not paying extra for faster delivery! This has got to be excellent service.

Fitted them today - dead easy but I did warm the sills with a hair dryer as the instructions say to fit them at 18 deg.C. They certainly look OK.

Just an idea, but anyone tried heavy duty/self adhesive velcro for fixing them?

Then you could remove them for cleaning etc... :stuck:

Ther is actually two types of sill protectors, one set is just black plastic and the other has the fabia logo etched in a metal plate on the front ones, they look dogs danglys!!!!
