I had a front suspension springs go six months ago. The local garage I used charge

I had the springs changed on my Octavia, by a local garage, for £30 each.

I supplied the springs.

literally a 30 min job max.

Assuming you have the VAG tool to open the bottom of the hub to locate the strut! Otherwise it can take considerably longer, imhe :rofl:

not only do you need the tool to open up the hub , you also require spring compressors to not only compress the strut to remove the spring but to compress the strut on the car to get it out of the hub

deffo more than a 30 minute job , more like an hour+ at least

A local garage (NW London) charged me £150 + VAT to do all four springs when I had Eibach lowered springs fitted to my Fabia. Knowing the rears are a simpler job to do that the fronts I would have thought £100 + VAT would be the right price for the front springs to be changed (that is for the pair) i.e. £50 each.

A Skoda dealer might be a little more.

Just changed the springs on the front of my Fabia. If the spring has broken at the top where it sits on the bearing you will need to compress the spring on the car. I had no problem removing the strut from the hub without any special tool. The most difficult element was compressing the spring on the car. I also replaced both springs, both shockers (uprated gas), both bearings and replaced ruber covers on shockers. All parts came to less than
