Clutch,knocking and gear box sorted...

Featured Replies

Ok so my car has finally been sorted. I had a sticky clutch and they changed the clutch pedal and switch. Packed my gear box with grease and tightend everything up. Feels like new again. Only thing is my trip computer is a bit strange. I put the car in the garage with a full tank and the reading for my miles was normal, when I picked up the car it read that I only had 250 miles left in my tank but still a full tank of fuel. Now usually on a full tank it reads about 600. Do I have a problem with the trip or should I not worry. Help!

The miles remaining is calculated from your mpg. So if the mechs were running the engine but the car was stationary, the mpg reading would go down and therefore the predicted fuel amount will go down. Just reset your mpg counter and you should be sorted.

or they screwed the @rse of the car on the road test after the work was completed

True, but seeing that theres so much love in the world I doubt this is the case!:P

i always reset my trip computer and mileometer before taking the car to a dealer just incase. I had a bad experience with my dealer. The car had covered 16 miles at an average was 27 mpg :(

i complained big time. they did **** all until i contacted skoda uk who spoke with the dealer. my servicing cost was refunded and my car was refilled with a tank of fuel, some admission of guilt!
