wheels...which fit?

Featured Replies

right, i'm not doing it yet but i've just rotated the front tyres onto the rear to extend the life of them...in 6 months or so i'll need 4x new 17" tires.

looking at ebay, there are loads of new VAG-fit 18"s with tyres for sub 600 quid.

now then: which fit? do all VW golf/passat/audi fit the superb?

iirc the superb/passat has a 112mm pcd, and the golf has 100mm pcd o they wont interchange without adaptors

Superb has an Offset of ET35 and the PCD is 5x112.

I got mine 19" RS8's for £800 with 235/35/19 tyres...........Bargain??

So then chaps,

If buying 18" or indeed 19" wheels (which look great on those cars that already have them)

1. What size of tyre have you gone for?

2. Looks like suspension lowering is a must otherwise the car looks a little "perched". Does this mean buying new springs and shockers? If so, how much does that add to the package?

Cheers,

Rob

You could always use the Tyre Calculator on the home page of this site.

My 19's are running 235/35/19 tyres and when I had my 18's on my Bora they were 225/45/18.

My KW Coilover kit was

Do you know if suspension kits, or coilovers like yours can cope with the likes of towing a caravan?

Im just thinking about the extra load on the back, as the Superb has a nose weight of 75kg

I am afraid that I may differ from some Superb owners when it comes to things like that, my Superb is primarily my work car, then my weekend hockey taxi so I don't get involved in towing anything, sorry mate, couldn't answer that.

Did a bit of research on this, and these Streetline kits which this ebay shop are selling. It looks like they are a Bilstein product, so not a bad pedigree at all.

May be tempted....

The only problem that I see with this kit is that -35mm is not a lot and it may be the case that you actually see little difference in ride height..................

Personally, that would not be too bad as long as there was some drop showing.

I have the caravan to consider.

Then you could well be 'In the game' mate!!

i'd avoid the bilstein's. some people love them but i had the streetlines on my mk2 golf with 17s and the ride was hard enough to bounce open the glovebox on speedbumps. you only buy cheap suspension once......!

i'd imagine you could just change the springs for dropped ones and keep the OEM struts?

Don't suppose anyone has a picture of their Superb with the RS8 style wheels on?

Any would be much apreciated :)

Hmmmm, I don't know about most people but I prefer a harder ride, my KW's is a very firm ride and I know that Fluffy's V-Max coilovers are a hard ride.

You can indeed just buy springs however with the Superb being a heavy car it may suffer from a 'bouncy' ride as the OEM struts will just bounce back the weight off the lower springs.

I believe you need to look at Fluffy's ride below:
