cold start - car feels "jerky"

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

The last month or so it looks like I'm an amateur driver when I start my O1 1.9Tdi and drive off: in first gear the car feels really "jerky". Same behaviour as when you're not working your pedals right and you come close to stalling. Once I'm in second gear the problem is gone and doesn't come back until the next cold start.

Anybody any ideas? I don't do a lot of miles (sometimes I don't drive the car for 2 days), maybe I should add a product in my fuel tank to clean the pipes and filters?

Cheers

if it only does it when cold i would suggest the coolant temperature sensor is playing up.... you need to get the fault codes read off off it really.

Hi,

Just had my 30.000km service done and problem is solved!

Probably a dirty filter caused this

Cheers
