1.4TDi Owners !!

Featured Replies

Ok I was wondering how many people have a Fabia 1.4TDi on these forums :D

Also what are your oppinions and what is your average MPG (Please no computer readings.... physical results please)

=======MY OPPINION ========

Ok well, the engine will not set the world on fire, but is suprisingly nippy though out all types of driving. Town to out of town.

Hills seems to not hamper this engine and for a grandad driver (As friends call me) it is a overall suitable car.

My favourite thing is the economy 63mpg on long journey's @ 70mph and 55mpg average (Give or take) and 52mpg around town (Most of my driving)

I look forwards to other people oppinions

I don't think that we're doing quite as well as you around town, although it's difficult to tell as SWMBO never fills the tank so it is difficult to say exactly. We took it on holiday recently and averaged around 60 mpg. Which with 4 people + luggage onboard wasn't bad. Didn't seem to slow it down any either.

We're both impressed with the way this engine goes and I love the sound it makes.

Hi,

My TDI is now up to 60K miles after two and a half years. Brilliant. I record all fuel used and work out MPG rather than trust computer (it's optimistic) MPG went up steadily with running in and now shows that it has averaged over 70 from new which includes mostly town and motorway driving sometimes with a trailer. Have got much more in hot weather. In winter the figures are down until the engine warms, which can take several miles. Having played around with cruising speeds, I find a big difference between 70mph and 60 mph. Top speed I've seen is 110mph. Oil use is half a litre between services. One of the nice things about this car is that you can drive like a grandad or have fun without you or the car being uncomfortable in either mode. I'm glad I chose this over the opposition.

There are lots of hills here,so i'm either going up or down,i've always had 51/52mpg,on a long run it did 59mpg once.fitted an e-bay tuning box last month, makes a big difference to low down power and no diference to mpg
