I decided to purchase some adhesive feet of ebay.eBay.co.uk: Rubber feet. Self adhesive. Patin anti derapant. 20Pcs (item 200043278435 end time 12-Nov-06 11:07:17 GMT)

Fitted them to the door of the glovebox on the part that meets the rubber bump stops on the dash. Due to the size of the feet I had to removed the rubber bumps stops to allow the door to close.

Result. Rattle free When closed the door is solid. No more movement.

i had a new glovebox lid fitted under warranty , then fitted the self adhesive foam to make sure of no further rattles

Just to add as well. If you open the passenger door and remove the side part of the dash. I found part of the plastic from the glovebox was jubbing against some plastic on the dash. Didnt have any sandpaper about so used another adhesive pad to sperate the two. So far so good.

My way of combating the rattle was to buy a pack of self adhesive velcro pads from Halfrauds. They only cost a coupleof quid. I just used a couple of the soft pads and cut them down to the required size and stuck them to the area where the rubber feet push up against...... Job's a good 'un.
