Stu's control

Featured Replies

Popped over to VRStu today to have cruise control fitted.

 Wow the man knows his stuff, even though my car turned out to be one of the harder ones to do, he dealt with it no problem.

Used the cruise control all the way home and it performed perfectly. Anyone considering having it done - go do it - you will not be disappointed.

You would think it had been factory fitted you just cant tell the difference.

Had a few extras done with Vag Com + my Talex GPS hard wired (no more wires over the dash).

The mans a genius.

Thanks Stu:thumbup:

Look forward to a test drive in your Octy next time.

He's too used to doing the vRS' I guess. :D

I will agree though, the retrofit cruise does look SO factory it's scary. Probably because of the use of genuine parts and any extra wiring etc, is hidden away. :)

I can't imagine being without cruise now really.

Great to see you today Chris.

That cable looks a bit tight on the Talex so I would either pull a bit more cable through or IMHO it looks better with the magnet move further back.

If nothing else it was a learning experience eh!!!

Amazing to watch even though at one point I thought I would be driving home with a pair of pliers on the sterring wheel hub nut:rofl:

Re Talex wire - Im going to move the unit back a bit ala Stu:D Might need to get a new sticky pad though.

You need a waiting room fitted with ashtrays...maybe that's the next investment:D

no disrespect to stu as i know he knows his stuff but why wouldn't it look factory?? he only uses factory fit parts where visible

Waiting room with TV and DVD maybe....oh, and ashtrays:D

Visible cruise stalk is the obvious bit, its the quality of installation that impressed me. Bare in mind I needed quite a few items removed including wiper mechanism, there are no screwdriver marks where trim has been removed, tidy wiring and everything put back just the way it was without rattles or squeaks.

I have been checking Stu:rofl:

Stu - expect another PM in a week or two once the car arrives... :)
