Powerflex fitting

Featured Replies

As I have the Ibiza in at Jabba next month, getting the Eibach springs/dampers on, is it worth uprating the bushes all round at the same time?

Was something I had planned and would this be the best time, seeing as the suspension setup's being replaced? I'm just thinking in terms of labour time.

Cheers,

Steve

I would consider just doing the fronts, powerflex rear bushes tend to make for a pretty harsh ride.

I'd only change them if they are worn. I found the front wishbone rear bushes made the most difference to handling!

What do uprated bushes do?

The fronts will stop the wishbones being forced backwards under hard acceleration/cornering which will temporarily mean the geometry is out of line which is obviously not much good for handling. The rears mainly stop any side to side movement of the beam.

I'm not sure if it is still the case but older vag cars also have a small amount of rear wheel steering, if this is still the case poly rear beam bushes will also stop any RWS effect.

Ibiza cupra wishbone bushes part no 6LL 407 183 , £6.62 ea + VAT = £15.56 for 2
