Which GPS navigator?

Featured Replies

Going to get my dad a GPS navigator for Christmas.

I have a tomtom pda-based solution but suspect that an integrated solution might be the best for him as they're less complicated and the extra flexibility would probably be lost on him. Needs to be easy to use and able to handle speed camera locations (preferably at low subscription cost).

Any suggestions?

My vote goes to the Garmin Nuvi 300. Great price, easy to use, 7 digit postcode, camera database available and generally just a quality piece of kit.

Tomtom's are also pretty good. I would steer away from Navman and cheaper unbranded stuff, they seem to lack good routing logic somehow.

I use Tom Tom on my PDA, but for an all in one unit i waould go for a Tom Tom or Garmin. If you can source a Garmin i3 from anywhere, these are a good little unit and very cheap.
