I am looking at getting a new car and would like a Fabia VRS but I know there is a new model coming in the not too far distant future and am not keen on the way the current model looks.

Is there any hard and fast information on when the next Fabia will be released and on the technical spec of the VRs - ie will it have the 140PD or 170PD TDi engine?

Also, are there any confirmed pictures of it?

new vRS about 18 months...

18 months eh? How about the other models? Also, will the VRs have the 140 or 170TDi or is it still to be decided?

1.2 12v, 1.4td, 1.4 tsi 125bhp dsg, 1.4 tsi 170bhp dsg, 1.9tdi dsg, 2.0 tdi dsg (maybe) official launch party 17th jan i think... it will be in showrooms by the end of jan vrs and combi will be 12months later? prices not much over the asking price of the current furby.

skoda told autoexpress, the tsi engine would be used in the new fabia, but that the vRS will again be a diesel, but didn't say what spec/power output

I heard that will have also (2008) have a new diesel engine, common rail technology 1.5 unit, but then that will be across the whole VAG range.

I dont think the new VRS will have the 2.0 TDI.
