I have a Fabia TDI 1.4

The power steering light has started to come on and the power steering some times cuts out

if i turn off and back on agin it is ok for a while

now the ABS has started to do the same

the 3 year warranty has just run out

Please can any one Help !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Can't comment on the ABS problem but I have just resolved a similar problem of intermittent power steering failure. It turned out to be a failure within the PS pump which had to be replaced. The bad news it that a new pump is about

if the lights flicker as well then usually the steering sensor needs replacing....see lots of posts on here

Took it in to skoda

they say it may be an alternator problem or wireing to alternator

have to take it back next week for them to fix it

had to take it to skoda because the electrices whent mad

ABS playing up, power steering playing up, clock reseting to 0

cars gone mad and is not safe

never had problem like this on any car before

8TH skoda we have had and never any major problems

if this cost to much it will be the last !!!!

I see skoda are selling bikes now

A little harsh to base your decision on 1 dodgy car after 7 ok ones.

Unlike me who has owned 1 Skoda and is so fed up with the way it's been sucking up money recently that it's probably the last.

what bothers me is i am 2 weeks out of garantee and skoda dealer is not intrested and says it will be anouther week before he can look at it properly

ok the lights started to flicker as well

managed to get it into anouther skoda dealer who could look at it stright away

the problem was the alternator

it seems the power stering ect comes strsght off it

it showed very bizaar faults though that could be very dangerous

talked nicely to skoda and explained how all our company cars came from this dealer though this was my wifes car and how the company i worked for make the machines which make the air bags and seat belts and the nice people at skoda agread to do it under garantee

£300 saved Xmas back on

one of the company ones has 180000 miles on the clock and no major problems

You were unlucky I suppose , bits like alternators sometimes fail , its just the luck of the draw whether its you or someone else!

i was just scared by the bizzar fults it showed

at least outhers may know what to look for if they have problems
