MS Outlook -deleting old accounts

Featured Replies

Hi all

Can you help a computer illiterate?

How do you remove your old mail accounts from the drop down 'From' list in a new Outlook email message?

If I type the first 3 letters of my name in the 'From' box I get my current address as well as five others which relate to accounts from years ago. If I select the wrong one (which I have just done in error!) it sends the email with my correct address and adds 'on behalf of ...+ whichever old address has been selected.

I've looked in the address book and only my current email address is there. I can't find any assistance from Outlook 'Help' and there's nothing in 'Windows XP for Dummies' so can anyone here assist?

Thanks in advance.

I think you can right click on the ones you want to delete and select delete.

Mannyo: You are a scholar! The old ones repeatedly entered the 'From' box but the secret appears to be hold left hand mouse button down over old address and hit 'delete' button.

Thanks for your help - much appreciated.
