Ice polish - not bad

Featured Replies

It might not be a new thing over there in the civilised world but they've just brought out this new clear polish in NZ so I thought I'd give it a go.

I'm told the shine doesn't last long so you need to do it nearly every wash but it hardly takes any effort to apply and I like the result:

It looks fine in the 'before' pic Rob ;)

Who makes it?

True but your car can never be too shiny IMHO!

It's a turtle wax product:

Turtle Wax Introduces ICE

Comes with a sponge to apply it and a microfibre cloth for polishing.

I won't argue with the shininess issue Rob!

I can't help thinking you'd be better off with something from Meguiars, if they sell it over there? Turtle Wax must have cut some corners here, if you can rub it over plastic and vinyl with no ill effects, and you can apply/remove in direct sunlight  - that might well explain why you've heard the finish doesn't last that long...

You're probably right. I think it's polish for lazy people. It does have a strange feel to it - a little like the dash cleaning products, or even back to black. Not something to get on the steering wheel I suspect.

Sounds like it will contain a vast amount of silicone something that longterm isn't too great for the paintwork.
