VRS Oil change ?

Featured Replies

Hi,

I've had my car 4 months now, with only a few niggles to worry about....

Got in the car friday morning and it says OIL ... OIL ... OIL on the right.... I thought this would mean adding oil, but checking the dipstick its with-in limits..

What does this mean? The car supposedly had a years service when i bought it, and its only done 14k (3k under me)... Should i be expected to pay for the oil change??

Advise gratefully recieved..

Matt

The car is asking for an oil-change service. If it's done less than 10K miles since the last one, the dealer didn't reset the indicator properly. Any dealer should be able to reset the indicator in a couple of minutes.

It just does this.... most peoples do, even though it doesn't have variable servicing! your car needs servicing every year or 10k, whichever is first, if you want to get rid of the OIL warning, have a look in the handbook, it tells you how to reset it! (It normally comes on after about a year......)

press and hold trip reset button , turn ignition on , keep holding button in for 10 seconds , this will reset the OIL service warning indicator
