I want to change the tires on my Fabia Sedan but I have no Idea where to start

Featured Replies

HI all I am new to Briskoda,

I own a black Fabia (sedan) and I want to change the rims and tires...I have no idea where to start or what the size or color of the rims I should get keeping in mind that my car is black.

By the way I live in Jordan

I live in Jordan - middle east, although I am canadian.

what the hell am I doing in the ME in Jordan well haha long story, Oh yeah I am a bit daft when it comes to cars in general.

Please, please help I want rims that look cool and that don't screw up my mileage cause gas is expensive in Jordan.

THANKS

P.S if anyone is intrested in knowing anything about Jordan, it would be my pleasure

Hi,

The fabia will take 18's but these would seriously compromise ride quality and require suspension modifcations. I would consider 15's (55 profile tyres) or 16's (45 profile tyres) to minimise the difference in fuel economy and these should look ok on standard suspension.

If you look at the Sticky's in the Fabia forum there is one called Alloy Wheels, there's lots of pics on there (first few pages the pic's don't work). Have a look and see what takes your fancy.

The only other thing you need to know is the fabia has 5 studs with the PCD of 100. The offset can range from 35-42 from memory.

Ps. Why did she marry Peter Andre?

thanks ~~****~~ so I should consider 15's or 16's

well in jordan its hard to trust rim sellers so I was thinkin of installing skoda genuine parts and I checked the website and found all the original skoda rims:D

check it out the PDF file

which ones do you think I should get?

Fabia_Accessories.pdf

I havent downloaded the PDF , but the ones i like out of the brochure are the 16" Ride alloys part no CCH 300 002. £117 of our English pounds each without tyres though , so expensive for what they are.

So that's the rims, do the spokes and hubs come separately?

IIRC skoda octavia MK I VRS alloys fit and look good on a furby.

They are 17" wheels.

Yep, Octy vRS wheels would be what I'd go for, if you want to keep with Skoda wheels. Or even the 16" versions if you want a bit more comfort, which they fitted to Ireland vRSes and the estate model here.

Otherwise, staying OEM if you're worried about quality (which is a valid concern) look at Audi offerings, should be plenty of choice. The availability of TT wheels for example - the Competition model, the RS4 ones etc etc

Steve

Don't the genuine audi wheels have a different offset etc or is that just those of the A4/A6/A8 that are different. I honestly don't know on that side of things.

The newer ones do yeah, like on the current A3 and A4 - they're 5x112 (as is the Octy2 and Mk5 Golf). But stuff like the TT and older shape (97-02) A3s have the same 5x100 and are in the offset region of 35-38, which is fine.
