black smoke

Featured Replies

hi guys

well ive my fabia vrs now for a week and what a week it as been , what a laugh to see the local boyracers disapearing into background.

my question is this whan i put my foot down i get a puff off black smoke is this the norm with diesel engines or have i got a prob

quite normal, no problems.... try some nice BP ultimate , or Shell V-power, or bio-diesel, may reduce the smoke a bit....... but it's nothing to worry about :)

it will smoke more if you boot it from below 2000 revs, try booting it from above those revs, and it will smoke less :)

Hi

Yeh i believe this is completely normal, My vrs has always done the same and i have owned it 9 months. Slightly less smoke with pd160 air intake though.

thanks fellas i will try that

Once you've seen how mine smokes, you'll never worry about yours again. ;)

Don't try Shell V-Power as the V-Power derv isn't over in the UK Yet!

Doing this your clutch will like you a bit more too, and last longer :)

But yes, perfectly normal. Jase, where's the link to that video of you going round a track, with plumes of smog in your wake? :D

The Hemel Hempstead oil fire couldn't prepare you for the smoke seen coming out of The Mongrel [TM] ;)

Normal, but it used to make me panic!

Devonutopia's car couldn't be as bad as my old 306 D turbo!!

Once you reach 150bhp with one of them they become rather smokey!!!

My remapped VRS smokes real bad as I go through 1500RPM. As you all say, its fine above this.

I cant remember it smoking anywhere near as bad pre map.
