cam chain

Featured Replies

hi there just wondering if some one could help , we have just bought a felicia 1.3 for my daughter , there was a metalic rattle so i called my mate who a bit about cars , he said has it a chain or belt . he told me what to do so i followed his insructions on the phone . on the left side of the engine is a cover which he said to remove to see , we know now it has a chain which is slack , on the cover i took off it has a gear on the bottom with a piece sticking out like the end of a screwdriver . where that goes into the motor there is what looks like a screw ( slotted type ) which i guess they come together . Ok this is the thing how do i adjust the chain ? also the cover with the gear attached which way round does it go as it has 2 holes in it on different sides , and how does it locate back in the hole as i cant seem to get it to drop down and locate . i hope you can make out what i am asking Many thanks Adrian

unfortunately there is no way of adjusting the tension of the chain, they just get slack when they are worn out, you will need to replace the chain..

use the search function to find info on timing chains, there is a brilliant how to quide on here somewhere

yeah that's the one, couldn't be bothered to look for it tho.

do you ever get bored of typing the same answers to the same questions every day??
