does any one have pictures of their upper front strut brace?

the reason i ask is that i have just got one and on trial fitting it seems that it may foul on the bonnet it self when shut. it does not look like the audi one which has the curve in it that goes around the plastic pipe in the n/s corner by the screen.

just wondering if any one has any pictures that i might be able to say yes thats the one i have to. and then go from there as to wether i fit it or not!

Am I imagining it, or are these so-called strut braces U-shaped when viewed from above?

Certainly was a rather mucky engine bay. My Octy has (had) an Neuspeed upper brace as shown, and has this issue with insufficent bonnet clearance. So some body work modification was called for (as neat as I could make it) as indicated by the red arrows.

Hope this is useful, oh and easiest way to determine if you haven't got clearence (because you obviously can't see when the bonnet goes down) is to get some bluetak or play dough and plaster a thin layer on the underside of your bonnet where the brace is going to make contact. Drop the lid, and lift is up - if it is squided you know you need to get the hack saw out, or swap your brace for one that don't give such problems!

Is the one pictured an S3 brace? How much are they?

Stick the one you have on ebay and get an Ausdi s3 one, About £45+Vat from your freindly Audi dealer, get the s3 bottom one along with bolts and captive nuts while you are doing, the holes are already in the subframe for it, about £22 incl Vat!!

i have the bottom one already. going to fit it over the weekend. i actually bought them both off of ebay together. the bloke said it was for and octavia but to be honest i think it is more than likely a golf one. waiting for my mate to pop round in his golf at the weekend to test it.
