Front/Rear Bumpers easy to fit?

Featured Replies

I have a normal TDI Elegance. Thinking of fitting the VRS style bumpers onto the front and back (once I have sourced and sprayed, though may be getting the rear this week and getting it sprayed after christmas). Just wondering how easy these are to put on. Do these fit the normal bodykit ok, or are they a pain in the nuts?

i did the rear one last week, really easy, jack the car up, remove rear wheels, remove mud flaps, remove rear lamps, undo screws under the lamps, under the bumper there is 3 screws, undo those, and sorted

i think you need a different engine shield and possibly other parts when you fit the front bumper , do a search as i'm sure quite a few people have done it before

Engine Shield?! :o Bit of a newb so don't even know what one of those is, meh.

Will give the rear one a go first then I think, and worry about the front later! Cheers for the advice. :)

Rear is easier. But you need to whip out the rear light clusters to get to 4 of the torx bolts. I also had to move my exhaust tail a bit as it sat differently to the RS cutout. Front you will need the whole bumper and all the fittings including the round foglights. The wiring will be fine (as I've got the vRS wiring into the original square fogs) swapping the front involves two biggish bolts around the radiator area, accessable when you open the bonnet, then numerous smaller torx around the wheel arch edge, and underneath / around the engine tray.
