Fabia SDi fanbelt

Featured Replies

Got a funny noise comming from the cam side of the engine on my 1.9SDi

took it to the Skoda dealers (under waranty) to get it checked out.

got a call to say it was the fanbelt that was making the noise and they could change it for about

it's a ribbed belt, to change it is dead easy, all you need is something to release the automatic spring loaded tensioner with, like a spanner or mole-grips, there is a special tool for doing it but it isn't necessary, make sure you make a note of the way the belt is routed becuase it goes around a pulley, AC pump, alternator, tensioner etc. and it's very easy to get mixed up

Shouldn't bee too tricky for me as I don't have air conditioning in my car (it's the basic model)

i'll pop to my local car spares shop and see if they have a belt over the weekend :D

cheers for the advice
