Hi I am new to the forum and Skodas, only got a 98 Octavia

I have a Symphony HU with the CD changer. I did not get the code when I got the car and have not got the hand book for the HU.

What is the best way of getting a code?

Also the HU does not switch off with ign and does not illuminate with the lights, any answers.

I have trawled quite a few pages of this section but not found the answers, can anyone help a newbie out please.

Main dealer.

Log book, radio serial number and inside leg measurement.

£15 IIRC - sameday service.

I have the same issue with my symphony headunit.

IIRC you need vag.com to sort out this issue with the unit not lighting up or switching off with the ignition.

Although I have told my dealer what needs to be done (thanks to infor from here) they want :eek:

I rang the dealer in Lincoln today and they said that it would be cheaper to go elsewhere to get the code as they charge

Is it not possioble to get the code from the ECU...Did I not read somewhere if you do something with the Ignition/ radio together "Does it not disply the code on the radio" ...Or am I thinking of something else.........:confused: [ no dout I am ]
