Tesco 99RON

Featured Replies

I must say, I have not had much success with these fancy fuels in the past, the Fabia and Octavia I had were both 8v and it didn't seem to give them much noticable extra kick. Iv'e just filled up the Getz with the Tesco 99 Octane stuff and even though there was over a quarter of a tank of regular 95 left there is DEFINATLEY an improvement in performance especially at the higher end of the rev range. The Getz has CVVT which I guess allows it to take advantage of the better fuel,

So my findings are is that It can make a difference if applied to the right car, anyone else have this experience?

I try to use the better stuff all the time as there is a much better improvemnt in performance - and strangly enough makes me drive slower! Probably because its more expensive per litre and I want to get my moneys worth! Still, it gives the extra oomph when needed and is a must for me :D

as there's a improvement in performance from the higher priced fuel, you should be driving quicker to get your money's worth. if you're driving slower anyway you may as well be putting cheap stuff in :D

i only ever use Tesco 95 - my car's not going to perform any better from 99 or vpower etc :thumbdwn:

I know, but its a strange psycological thing going on! :o I do like to "feel" it everynow and then with the expensive stuff, but drive more sensible most of the time for some strange reason!

i fill mine up with tesco 99 and boot it everywhere, sod mpg :)

Yup, I'd go along with that sentiment although it's V-Power for me!

Also a V-power user in both the M3 and vrs...

Are they using fuel additives in the tesco 99..??? as they never used too in the 95../?

no idea but my car drives and runs better on tesco when compared to either optimax/ultimate/v-power, the car has never been mapped for teso either but for general super unleaded when it was mapped it had shell fuel in it.

uhmm interesting... May have to try a tank...!!!

i no powerstaion did a test against optimax and bp ultimate a few years back and optimax was found to be so much better..

Thats good to no as my wife's was also mapped running optimax...
