Coolant Light?

Featured Replies

Hi all got a octavia 1.9tdi estate company car and chuffed to bits with it used to stick with my vauxhalls but very impressed with skoda.

Light came on dash today yellow one on the same row as the oil light which im guessing is coolant? I dont have any owner manuals and would like to know what coolant i need?

G12 antifreeze im guessing from a few posts on here just want to make sure.

Cheers

I havent got an Octy but the coolant one on my Fabia is a red triangle around a thermometer that flashes when low on coolant.

If it is yellow, it may be the engine (CEL) light.

You're right about the fluid type, to the best of my knowledge, although there is a specific spec from VAG, hopefully someone can post back that info or a link to the manual you'd kinda need

I don't have an octy II just an Octy I, however I would just pick up some anti-freeze at the local dealer.

Failing that i assume the car is fairly new so assuming the anti-freeze is fairly strong you could just top the thing up with a tiny amount of water and take a quick look for pink crusty deposits anywhere on the cooling system.

could be the light that tells you the windscreen washer is low!! - it usually goes "bong"!! when it comes on.
