Problem With Key

Featured Replies

Hmmmm.....Went to work this morning, unlocked my car using the fob, no problem.

Just been to lunch and the car would not unlock. The button for the boot works, the button for locking the car works, but not the unlocking the car button.

I have only had the car since August. Any ideas?

try popping the key open and blowing any dust out.

Then pop it back together and give it a try.

If your car is under warrenty just get the key into the dealer as it might be a sticking microswitch.

Cheers. Popped the key open, used a sprayduster on it to clear any dust but its made no difference.

The car was new in August so will take it to my local dealer to try and sort it out.

I remember i had this with my old seat leon. The frequency had been lost as i had pressed the remote while away from the car. There was a fix in the manual but i dont know if this applies to skoda too?

It does actually say in the manual about the synchronisation of the remote control.

It states:

Press any button on the remote control

Pressing of the button means that the door will unlock with the key within 1 minute.

Tried it and nothing appears to have happened.

Hi, I had the same issue with my fob earlier this year, it turned out to be the battery in the fob. Couldn't unlock the car but could open the boot and lock the car, this lasted for a couple of days then it stopped all together. Had to call the AA out as I was out at the time, very nice chap changed the battery in the fob and everything's been fine since.
