Octavia door lock

Featured Replies

My drivers side door lock has stopped working completely (1998 Octavia)

For a while I was able to lock the car using the key in the drivers door lock but I was unable to unlock it, the situation seemed to resolve itself but now it will not lock or unlock. At present I'm using either the boot or the passenger door lock to trip the central locking and gain access to the car but I would like to get the problem resolved. Any advice?

does the key just turn round and round??

or is it jammed and wont move at all??

The later - It's jammed and will not turn.

have you tried sprayin some wd40 inside the lock cylinder??

Yes tried WD - It's sounding like a new lock is required

not a whole lock, just the barrell i would have thought! order one nice and early tho, last time i ordered one from vw for a lupo, it took 6 weeks to arrive, you will need the chassis number/key number as well
